Justin Timberlake Sells Out PNC Arena For ‘Forget Tomorrow’ World Tour
Wednesday night fans of all ages packed the PNC Arena in Raleigh to see Justin Timberlake perform. The crowd erupted as Timberlake took the stage with his band, Tennessee Kids, and backup dancers in tow. He opened by showcasing his latest single, “No Angels.”
Timberlake released his newest album, Everything I Thought It Was, March of this year. He has been touring to promote his new music while still performing fan favorites from his earlier days. Nearly a dozen songs performed are from Everything I Thought It Was. While there were no N*SYNC songs to appease the 80’s and 90’s babies, he did perform songs from his first solo album, Justified (2002). Timberlake introduced “Cry Me a River” by asking how many original fans were in the audience and he featured a floating stage above head with water graphics. Many songs he performed were from FutureSex/LoveSounds including, “Sexy Back,” “Summer Love,” “My Love” and the title track.
JT hasn’t lost his passion for dance. He showed off his vocal and dance skills throughout the night. He is a well-rounded musician as he also played acoustic guitar and piano towards the end of his show. Timberlake danced with his band through the crowd and to a separate stage so the back of the arena could get a more intimate view of the pop singer. Here, he played a solo acoustic rendition of “What Goes Around…/…Comes Around.” He transitioned back to the main stage with a fun and upbeat performance of the popular Trolls movie hit, “CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!” which included fun and bright graphics on screen.
He finished out the night with “Mirrors” as he stood on a floating stage that was suspended over the crowd. It tilted and swayed over the crowd while Timberlake, attached by a harness, waved at fans around the arena. The “Forget Tomorrow” world tour has many more U.S. stops and will take Timberlake to Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands towards the end of the year.
