According to INSIDE EDITION, devoted Taylor Swift fan Emily Harris was considering selling the T Swift-autographed guitar that her father gave her for her 16th birthday to help pay for her upcoming wedding, but she was hesitant to part with such a meaningful possession. She asked her father to have the guitar appraised and he turned to a Taylor Swift Facebook group for advice, sparking an overwhelming response from fans who encouraged them not to sell the guitar. Many suggested they start a GoFundMe campaign instead, promising to support a fellow Swiftie.
Moved by the outpouring of support, Harris launched a crowdfund page, which quickly gained traction. Fans rallied behind her, contributing more than $14-hundred so far towards her wedding fund. The bride-to-be thanked supporters and has pledged to pay their kindness forward when she’s able.
Harris, a behavior analyst who works with autistic children and teens, plans to marry her fiancé, Jacob McDaniel, a high school athletic trainer, this November. She expressed gratitude for the support from the Swiftie community, and says it renewed her faith in the goodness of people. She also says the money will go a long way to helping pay for expenses like their wedding DJ, who will of course be spinning Taylor songs.
