Severe Weather Watch: Tracking Hurricane Ian

Update: As of Thursday morning, Tropical Storm Ian is beginning to move out of Florida and we begin to look at impacts on North Carolina. See our coverage of that here. We expect more closures and delays to be announced today, so check back to this page frequently.

1:15 p.m. Thursday Update: Multiple school closures or remote adjustments (including Cumberland County) have been added. See the schools section below.

As Hurricane Ian impacts Florida today, it’s time to pay attention and prepare for potential impacts in North Carolina later in the week.

Currently, heavy rain is expected across our region Friday and Saturday.

As closures and delays are announced we will add them to this page.

If you’d like to report an official closure or delay, please send an e-mail to country@wkml.com. We will monitor this e-mail address for ALL of our Beasley Media stations.
