Woman Sues After Contractor Tears Down Her Home By Mistake
Being a homeowner is a significant milestone in many people’s lives that comes with both responsibilities and rewards. As a homeowner, you have the freedom to personalize your living space and make it truly your own. You can decorate, renovate, and landscape as you see fit, creating a space that reflects your personality and style.
So imagine one woman’s shock when she realized her childhood home, left to her by her father, had been torn down by mistake!
Despite the challenges, owning a home can be a fulfilling and financially rewarding experience. Building equity in your home, potential tax benefits, and the sense of stability that comes with homeownership are just a few of the advantages, but no one expects to come home and find that their home has been torn down!
According to WBRZ, a Louisiana woman got a shock last May when a contractor tore down her house. They were supposed to take down the one next door but made a huge mistake.
Now Ernestine Smith, who is 65, is filing a lawsuit to get the cost of her home back. When the contractor came back to level the correct house they offered Smith “a couple of thousand dollars” for her trouble.
Considering that she just renovated her house, Smith turned that on. Now she’s suing so she can rebuild. Originally, the contractor said that he tore down the correct house and doesn’t know what happened to Smith’s.
We’ll have to see how this one plays out in court!
