Fayetteville Pie Company Announces it Will Close This Week

Fayetteville Pie Company in Westwood Shopping Center announced it would be closing for good this week.

Fayetteville Pie Company, a favorite restaurant of many in the community, announced it will be closing its doors for good later this week.

“Last week to enjoy pies on the patio,” the restaurant said in Facebook and Instagram posts. “It is with great sadness that we are closing our doors. Thank you so much to all of our customers. We appreciate everyone’s support.”

Voted the best pie shop in North Carolina by Tasting Table at one point, the restaurant was started by Leslie Pearson in 2016, in a small shop on W. Rowan St. (now Fowler’s Barbecue).

“I wanted to start something new here in Fayetteville… a quick service restaurant with ingredients that are as fresh and as local as possible,” Pearson told CityView Magazine in 2017.

Pearson’s passion paid off, and the restaurant grew rapidly. So rapidly in fact, that they moved to a bigger location in Westwood Shopping Center in 2017.

In December of 2021, Kerry and Jen Washburn bought Fayetteville Pie Company from Pearson, and took over operations.

No reason was given by the owners for why they were closing up shop now, but they did note that the popular food truck would not be continuing either. In a reply on their Facebook post, someone asked if the truck would still be operating and they said “not unless someone wants to buy it and take it over.”

Fayetteville Pie Company is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for now, and says they will be selling pies until they run out. No specific final date has been set, just until the pies are gone (which could be today).
