Cumberland County Fair Officially Fully Canceled for 2020
After already announcing that indoor activities wouldn’t be held this year, the Cumberland County Fair has announced the cancellation of the rest of the 2020 fair in Fayetteville as well. The Fair was to be held September 4-13 at the Crown Complex.
“As a response to ongoing national public health concerns, the Cumberland County Fair will not be held this year,” the Fair said in a statement released Thursday. “Previously, the decision was made not to proceed with any indoor exhibits or agricultural displays and in the best interest of the community’s safety; the carnival portion is now canceled as well.
“The health and wellness of our patrons and staff is always our number one concern and we hope that everyone remains safe during the pandemic as the Cumberland County Fair plans to return Labor Day Weekend 2021.”
It’s been a busy week for major cancellations as the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to ripple through North Carolina. The North Carolina State Fair announced it won’t be held for the first time since WWII, and the Holly Day Fair nixed the 2020 event scheduled for November as well.
