ABC Show ‘The Genetic Detective’ to Feature Ramsey Street Rapist Case
For Kobi Haschen, coming forward about her rape in 2007 while a student at Methodist University was a difficult decision. She was the fourth of six known victims of the man who became known as the “Ramsey Street Rapist.” Now, Haschen’s story – and the pursuit of her rapist through genetic genealogy – is part of an episode of the new ABC show “The Genetic Detective,” which will air on Tuesday, June 23.
From the episode description from ABC News: “From 2006 to 2008 a series of unsolved rapes haunted residents in Fayetteville, N.C. Investigative Genetic Genealogist CeCe Moore works on the case with the Fayetteville Police Department while she attends CrimeCon, an annual true crime convention held in New Orleans. The episode includes interviews with survivor Kobi Haschen who bravely came forward with her story, Fayetteville Police Department’s Lieutenant John Somerindyke and former supervisor Lieutenant Kellie Berg, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Liz Herring and (former Fayetteville Observer) reporter Paul Woolverton. A new episode of “The Genetic Detective” premieres TUESDAY, JUNE 23 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.”
The show follows Moore as she helps with crimes around the country. Haschen thanked Moore in a Tweet on August 23, 2018 after she was notified her rapist had been arrested.
“I am one of the survivors of the Ramsey Street Rapist and I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done,” Haschen’s Tweet read. “I have waited almost 11 years, and that phone call yesterday was the most AMAZING feeling. Thank you.”

Tuesday’s Episode 5 is titled “The Phantom of Ramsey Street” and will air on ABC 11. Haschen said in April that “if it hadn’t been for (Moore) and her hard work, my case may have never been solved!”
