People Are Not Sure How To Feel About The Latest Barbie Doll
When I think about my carefree days as a child playing with Barbie’s, I can’t recall playing with a pregnant Barbie.
Oh wait, that’s because she didn’t exist then.
Fast forward to today, and there’s a new Barbie doll on the block … and yes, you can remove the baby bump and the baby!
Yikes!
Apparently, the doll has been raising a few eyebrows in the UK. Photos of the doll were published on the Daily Mirror and I also found several listings on ebay as well.
The dolls are listed as “educational.” Let’s go down that route for a moment, shall we?! If a pregnant mother wants to buy a pregnant Barbie doll for her younger children to try to explain the pregnancy process … well, I guess that is understandable.
But, let’s be clear. Children are on a need to know basis — and honestly, if I had a doll like this as a child, I think it might have evoked quite a few nightmares — especially if my mother gave it to me in an attempt to explain pregnancy.
“Let’s just remove Barbie’s belly and extract the baby …”
Terrifying …
A quick scroll through Twitter and Instagram leads me to believe that other people are not particularly fond of pregnant Barbie either.

Side note, while the dolls have been called “Barbie’s” online, I don’t believe they are affiliated with Mattel, rather they look like a knock off brand to me.
