After we all made it through the great snow of 2022, now comes the lingering impact on the Fayetteville area, with school delays and closures set for Monday around the region.

How did we get here? Well, in case you were sleeping the last few days, or maybe you got stuck binging multiple seasons of “Ozark,” let’s recap things.

First, schools in Cumberland County, and across the region were worried about what looked to be another shot of ice on Thursday. That led to some early releases for some districts. Then Friday, most everyone switched to remote learning, because snow days are a thing of the past in our post-apocalyptical COVID hellspace.

That proved to maybe be a bit premature too, as the good stuff didn’t actually get here until Friday night. Then boy oh boy did Mother Nature make up for things, with 5-plus inches of snow in many areas throughout the region. (Thanks for sharing all your great photos with us! Check them out!)

The problem around here is that it didn’t really warm up enough to get rid of all the moisture over the weekend. So now, we’re looking at school delays and closures on Monday, thanks to icy road conditions, particularly in our rural areas.

So let’s take a look at what Fayetteville and the surrounding area school delays and closures situations are for everyone:
