North Carolina has so many haunted places, it's hard to pick the ones you should visit most.

Last week, we told you about the scariest haunted house in North Carolina, but what about the real places that are the most haunted?

What makes a spirit wander so long? I can say many of North Carolina’s ghosts lived during some hard times, maybe the need to tell their story?

Take my word for it, I’ve been to many of these, and it made me a believer of the paranormal. Here’s my list of some real haunted places you should check out in North Carolina.

  • 1. Devil's Tramping Ground - Chatham County

    According to NC Pedia, this spot near Siler City is a circle path that supposedly “Satan frequents this area on his nightly walks, pacing the circle as he comtemplates his evil deeds.”

  • 2. Mordecai House - Raleigh

    Legend has it that this house, which is the oldest still standing at its original location in Raleigh, has multiple ghosts haunting its halls.

  • 3. The Ghost Hiker of Grandfather Mountain

    This beautiful state park hides a lot more than you think, as a bearded man has been seen at dusk.
