Vermont Makes Marijuana History
Vermont makes American history.
As of yesterday, Vermont became the ninth state to legalize marijuana recreationally but was the first to accomplish it through legislation.
Phil Scott, the state’s governor, signed a bill that decriminalized possession of marijuana up to an ounce and also gets rid of penalties for growing up to two mature weed plants and four immature ones.
According to HotNewHipHop, governor Scott was quoted saying, “today, with mixed emotions, I have signed H.511…..I personally believe that what adults do behind closed doors and on private property is their choice, so long as it does not negatively impact the health and safety of others, especially children.”
Do you think this will start a new wave of other states following suit or is this just something Vermont is doing?
