Top 3 Avoidable Fights That Can Ruin a Relationship
Let’s be real, no relationship is perfect. Just like an occasional disagreement with a sibling, parent, or roommate, it’s normal to experience conflict with someone you spend a lot of time with in romantic relationships. Sometimes these fights or disagreements can have positive outcomes. This is especially true when understanding and communication are involved between you and your partner. But some fights are just unnecessary.
Best Life, a lifestyle magazine, collaborated with relationship experts and a celebrity matchmaker of Luma Luxury Matchmaking to compile a list of the top avoidable fights that can ruin a relationship.
Top Avoidable Fights That Can Ruin a Relationship
Kicking off their list is “texting tiffs.” Many people in relationships use texting as a form of communication. According to their experts, texting can cause some miscommunication. This includes loss of tone and the potential to leave messages unread. Emojis can be misunderstood, and delays in responses can lead to unnecessary worry and overthinking. They do suggest just talking to your partner to avoid conflict.
Following behind is “social media snafus.” Social media can stir up insecurities and ignite jealousy. This sometimes be a specific person who likes your post or you liking someone else’s post and other examples. “When it comes to social media, think about your significant other before you post or interact with others online and prioritize your real-life relationships instead of virtual ones,” one of their experts recommended.
On their list of avoidable fights is “planning priorities.” Arguments about how you spend your free time can arise in relationships. The reality of a relationship is that you spend a lot of time together. While this may be true for some, it’s safe to say we all need alone time and the ability to enjoy our own hobbies. “Trying to decide on weekend plans or vacations can feel like herding cats,” one expert said. “One person wants adventure, and the other wants Netflix and chill,” they shared. Before it becomes an argument, just know that communication is key.
The lifestyle magazine points out that we all generally fall into one of two categories: night owls or early birds. They said that having different sleep habits from your partner can prompt unnecessary fights. Some couples learn to embrace their partner’s schedules and make it work. But the best way to do this is to communicate your concerns and needs with each other before it becomes too far gone.
Other avoidable fights on their list include fashion fights, disagreements over money, dinner dilemmas, and others. Take a look at their complete list and more insights here.
Ways to Be Instantly More Attractive in the Dating Game
Dating is nothing like it was a few decades ago. Heck, dating isn’t anything like it was even just a few years ago, with all the different dating apps and online ways to find love. But, one thing hasn’t changed: People still want to be appealing. They want to put their best foot forward in the dating world. So, what are some ways to be more attractive and appealing when you’re on a date?
Actually, this list works even if you’re not looking to date or are already are in a long-term relationship. Why not be as attractive as possible just for yourself? I’m not just talking about the physical, either. There’s so much more to being an appealing person than looks alone. Dictionary.com has some definitions of attractive that show the broadness of this term. They say the word means “providing pleasure or delight, especially in appearance or manner” and add that words such as “pleasing, charming and alluring” all apply. They also use the word in the context of having “an attractive personality” or “arousing interest or engaging one’s thought” and “consideration.”
Of course, not all definitions are so broad. Some do come down to appearance and vanity. Vocabulary.com defines it as, “Anybody or anything that’s attractive is visually pleasing or draws you in.” They add that it also has to deal with attracting others, of course, and that, “for people, being attractive usually means you’re beautiful or handsome enough to pull in the attention of others.”
That said, in this list, I’m really focusing on ways to be an all-around attractive person. This is largely not a list about how to be physically prettier or more handsome. Sure, some of these tips are physical. But, for the most part, these are ways to be instantly attractive in the dating game and a more appealing person overall.
