Fayetteville Area Hotels Lending a Hand to Hurricane Ian Evacuees
Hurricane season is starting off strong with Hurricane Ian ready to make quite an impact in the next few days.
According to our friends at ABC 11, in an effort to help those fleeing from it’s path, the the Fayetteville Area Convention And Visitors Bureau has launched a website to help find lodging for folks headed to this area.
FACVB launched the portal that gives people escaping the storm a view of how many rooms are available at each hotel, as well as emergency contacts, and even pet-friendly rooms. There are about 30 hotels participating.
“This community is such a caring community, to begin with,” Randy Fiveash, the interim president and CEO of the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau told ABC 11. “It goes back to our roots of taking care of the soldiers, embracing the soldiers and embracing the soldiers. So I think that this is just an offshoot really of us saying: ‘we just want to be of help.'”
With Fayetteville being an easy on and off of Highway 95, this action is aimed at making hurricane evacuation more organized and convenient to those effected down south.
