Watch ‘House of Gucci’ First Trailer with Lady Gaga and Adam Driver

The first official trailer for House of Gucci, inspired by the true story of the Italian fashion house starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, has just been released.

Spanning three decades, the family empire behind Gucci includes love, betrayal, decadence, revenge and ultimately murder. The anticipated crime drama will ultimately examine what a name means, what it’s worth and how far a family is willing to go for control.

House of Gucci tells the story of how Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga), the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci (Driver), plotted to kill her husband, the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci. Based on the 2001 book The House Of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, the Ridley Scott-directed film is slated for theaters on November 24.

Al Pacino, an unrecognizable Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jack Huston round out the cast. Fun fact, Leto has long been associated with the Guccis, having featured in a number of their ad campaigns, starting in 2016.

“It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive,” Gaga narrates at the start of the trailer. “Synonymous with words: style, power. But that name was a curse, too.”

  Lady Gaga wrote this song a day after arriving in Los Angeles from New York. The singer-songwriter said, "I was taken very quickly out of my party lifestyle. I wrote it instantly - like it flew out of my body." She explained the meaning of the song as "If you've ever been so high that it's, like, scary, the only way you can deal with it is not deal with it, so you just kind of dance through the intoxication."

  Gaga attributes her failing hip influencing the song saying, "When I was finishing the [Born This Way] tour, I was physically breaking. I was in a lot of pain, but didn't know where really. I have a strong threshold for pain, so I kept slapping myself saying, 'Get it together.' The only thing that kept me going was the applause. And I was able to drown out the pain and finish the show."
