Marvels ‘Eternals’: What’s Going On In The First Teaser Trailer?
Marvel released the long-awaited first trailer for their upcoming film Eternals earlier today.
Eternals is directed by Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao who won Best Picture and Best Director for Nomadland earlier this year. The trailer doesn’t give away too much of the plot, other than to show the cast members – including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Brian Tyree Henry, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, and Kit Harrington, among others – throughout human history.
“We have watched and guided. We have helped them progress and seen them accomplish wonders,” Salma Hayek’s Ajak says in a voiceover, over Skeeter Davis’s 1962 song “The End Of The World.” “Throughout the years, we have never interfered — until now.” Of course, we’re left to wonder what has forced that change (especially if this takes place after the Thanos snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War… could the current threat possibly be worse than causing half of the souls in the universe to vanish?).
And how does this tie into the greater Marvel Universe? Well, stick around for the end of the trailer. Eternals is due in theaters on November 5.
