Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Camille Vasquez Still Squashing Dating Rumors After 2 Years
Camille Vasquez was Johnny Deep’s lawyer in the infamous defamation case Deep filed against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Now, two years later, Vasquez is still debunking speculations about how her relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor went beyond lawyer-client.
Camille Vasquez: “He’s Not My Type”
In an interview with Extra, Vasquez said, “I would never. Let me just go on the record here. Never dated Johnny Depp. Never would date Johnny Depp. I think he’s a lovely person, just—he’s not my type. That’s okay.”
Vasquez knew why the rumors weren’t dying. Per E! News, the lawyer speculated, “I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job. It’s disappointing that certain outlets kind of ran with it or said that my interactions with Johnny—who is a friend and I’ve known and represented for four-and-a-half years now—that my interactions in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional.”
Her courtroom behavior during the trial was also closely watched, aside from the back-and-forth accusations between the exes. According to US Weekly, Vasquez elaborated, “I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close. But when I say we, I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny. And I’m Cuban and Colombian. I’m tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I’m not ashamed about that.”
Not a Fan Either
Camille Vasquez even admitted that she hasn’t seen any of Depp’s movies either, except for Chocolat. Per Entertainment Weekly, “Admittedly, never seen him, really, in any film.” She added, “I have not seen him in Pirates.”
However, this doesn’t mean the lawyer isn’t charmed by the actor, “After maybe 30, 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience and looking at him and thinking, ‘He views the world so differently than I do. He definitely uses a different part of his brain. He’s such an artist.”
Johnny Depp Dating Again, But Not Vasquez
Since July, reports have been circulating about Johnny Depp dating again. The Sweeney Todd actor is said to be dating Russian model Yulia Vlasova. However, there’s been no official confirmation from the actor who has kept a low profile after his previous relationship (we’re not blaming him).
The actor prefers to spend most of his time in his England home, away from the limelight. In an interview with Somerset Life magazine in 2023, Depp said, per People, “I can go into shops without being surrounded by people wanting selfies. I don’t mind that up to a point, but sometimes it gets a little too crowded.”
