Andrew Garfield: The Internet Is Hoping He Gets Together With This Woman
Potential couple alert! The internet is currently obsessed with Andrew Garfield and Amelia Dimoldenberg and for years, we’ve been at the front row asking, “Will they, won’t they?” And it seems we have our answer.
Who is Amelia Dimoldenberg?
Amelia Dimoldenberg is a London-based comedian, red-carpet reporter, and social media correspondent, according to this article from People. She’s also a YouTube content creator with 2.7M subscribers. Her series, Chicken Shop Date is popular because of the funny and sometimes awkward bantering she has with her celebrity guests.
She’s already had Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, among others, on her show.
How Did It All Start?
November 16, 2022: British GQ Men of the Year Award
Dimoldenberg first interviewed Garfield during the 2022 GQ Men of the Year Awards. She shot her shot during the red-carpet interview, asking Garfield out on a “date” for her show. Their playful and flirty exchange went viral, sparking the internet’s obsession with the two.
January 14, 2023: Golden Globes
The pair met again during the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, and their encounter was as flirty as the first time, or perhaps flirtier, with Garfield telling Dimoldenberg, “I only ever want to see you.” When teased about it, he backtracked and said she didn’t let him finish the sentence, and what he really wanted to say was “I only ever want to see you in these kind of sort of situations.”
And on October 18, 2024, the Chicken Shop Date happened, as Andrew appeared on the show.
Talk about a slow-burn romance.
Chicken Shop Date with Andrew Garfield
Finally, Andrew Garfield appeared on Dimoldenberg’s YouTube series, Chicken Shop Date and shippers of this unlikely pair have been flooding the comment section about how the two are “soulmates” and are not acting for the camera. The chemistry seems real!
The two discussed their strange relationship, and while they agree something is going on between them, it seems both are gauging the other on whether what they’re saying is for real, or for reel.
“Take out all the practicalities and the logic. I actually believe maybe we could’ve, without all of this,” Garfield quipped pointing to the cameras and the situation they’re in. He’s notoriously known as someone who wants to keep his love life private which, can potentially be an issue given the public nature of their careers.
Still, there’s a glimmer of hope for those who want the two to be together. Towards the end of the “date” they agreed not to consider it as their “first date,” but rather a “practice round” for when they go out for real.
Dimoldenberg also said in an interview with TODAY that she’s open to finding love on her show. “I have said before, I don’t see why I couldn’t meet someone, like a romantic partner, via the show. Maybe some people might think that is really deluded,” she said. “I think part of me honestly believes, like, I am actually trying to meet someone and fall in love. And I think that genuine feeling is brought through within the show.”
Here’s us hoping it’s her latest guest!
