Early Voting In Fayetteville and Cumberland County: Here’s How You Can Get Involved
Election Day 2024 is Tuesday, November 5, but starting this weekend Fayetteville and Cumberland County voters will be able to fulfill their civic duties a little earlier.
Early voting is a safe and effective way to help avoid the long lines on election day. All ballots are processed as absentee ballots and will be counted among the first released results on election night. Here’s all the information you need for early voting in our area.
Early Voting in Fayetteville and Cumberland County Schedule
Early voting in Cumberland County begins Thursday, October 17 and will run through Saturday, November 2. Here are the times for each day that county residents can cast their early vote:
- October 17-18: 8:00am – 7:30pm
- October 19: 8:00am – 3:00pm
- October 20: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
- October 21-25: 8:00am – 7:30pm
- October 26: 8:00am – 3:00pm
- October 28-November 1: 8:00am – 7:30pm
- November 2: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Early Voting Locations
Many locations across the county will be available for early voting, including locations in Fayetteville, Spring Lake and Hope Mills. You can early vote at ANY location that is open, not just the one closest to you. On election day, you must vote at your precinct though. Early voting locations are listed here:

- College Lakes Recreation Center (4945 Rosehill Rd., Fayetteville)

- Kiwanis Recreation Center (352 Devers St., Fayetteville)
- Smith Recreation Center (1520 Slater Ave., Fayetteville)
- Spring Lake Recreation Center (245 Ruth St., Spring Lake)
- Stoney Point Recreation Center (7411 Rockfish Rd., Fayetteville)
Additional Voting Information
Eligible voters must be a U.S. citizen 18 years or older by the date of the general election. You must also live in the county where you are registering at least 30 days prior to Election Day, and not be serving a felony sentence, including any probation, post-release supervision, or parole.
Voter ID laws are also in effect for this election, which means that voters will be required to show photo identification in order to participate. If you don’t have a photo ID, you can get one for free at the Board of Elections office. Click here to get started.
To check your voter registration status, visit the North Carolina State Board of Elections’ website and enter all required information. If you missed the registration deadline on October 11, you can still register and vote or make changes to your registration during the early voting period at any early voting site in Cumberland County.
