Jack Black Shines As ‘Steve’ In New ‘Minecraft’ Trailer
Jack Black steals the show in the first teaser trailer for A Minecraft Movie. You’d think it would be the handsome Jason Momoa, but funny wins this time!
The movie doesn’t hit theatres until April 4, 2025 but anticipation is already building after the quick trailer was released today. It looks like it’s going to be a fun trip for the entire family. It’s not often that the internet comes together to agree on something, but the world wide web seems pretty united in being excited about the movie.
‘Minecraft’ Teaser Trailer Starring Jack Black Goes Viral
This is the first time in a long time that I remember so many people talking about a movie trailer online. However, it makes sense once you watch it. The visuals are stunning, the characters all seem likable, and it stars Jack Black. Best of all, Steve (played by Jack Black) seems to be exactly like him. He has one line in the trailer but Jack delivers it to perfection letting you know all you need to know about his character–he’s going to be a handful just by the way he says his name, “Steve.”
While Jack Black stole the show in the trailer, he’s far from the only star in the movie. Jason Momoa will have a large role as he seems to be the family-friendly character who’s on the adventure with the kids. Will he be able to successfully pull off what The Rock and Vin Diesel could not? Not many actors are able to pull off going from rough-and-gruff tough guy to the sensitive caretaker of children. It has not fared well in the past, hopefully it will land this time around. Additionally, Emma Myers (from ‘Wednesday‘ on Netflix), Danielle Brooks (‘The Color Purple‘), and Steve Carell (‘The Office‘) star in the movie.
A Minecraft Movie has been in development for a while and is based on the popular video game. Fresh off the success of Barbie, you never know how high the movie could climb. Minecraft is an incredibly popular game with kids and teens today and judging by the trailer, they’re going to want to see the movie. GameSpot called the trailer “incredible” while Forbes called it “Horrifying” but I’m not sure if they really watched it. Granted, it’s probably not the movie for readers of Forbes.
