Chick-Fil-A Wading Into the TV Wars With New Streaming Service
Chick-fil-A, the popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches, is making a bold move by launching its own streaming service later this year. It’s an opportunity for a different kind of Chick-fil-a binge, if you will. The company is partnering with major production companies and studios to create a lineup of original, family-friendly content.
Initially, Chick-fil-A’s streaming platform will focus primarily on unscripted shows and reality TV. Some of the projects in the works include:
– A family-oriented game show produced by Glassman Media (creators of NBC’s “The Wall”) and Sugar23 (known for Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why”), with a 10-episode commitment
– Potential scripted series and animated content in the future.
The budget for unscripted series is reportedly around $400,000 per half-hour episode.
This isn’t Chick-fil-A’s first foray into content creation. The company has previously produced short, animated films like “Stories of Evergreen Hills” for its website and has experience creating children’s puzzles and games under its Pennycake brand.
Despite the challenges of entering the competitive streaming landscape, Chick-fil-A’s strong brand, loyal customer base, and focus on family-friendly content could help it find a niche.
No word if it will air on Sundays.
