Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $687 Million, You Could Win in North Carolina
North Carolina, the Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed, and that means you all have a shot at a lot of really good days ahead of you.
The North Carolina Education Lottery said Wednesday night’s drawing will be for an estimated $687 million (or a measly $327.3 million if you take the lump sum option).
“It has been quite the run for Powerball with 33 straight drawings without a jackpot,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We hope to see that streak end tonight though with a jackpot win in North Carolina. Good luck.”
Monday night, there were 26,203 winning tickets of some type in the Powerball drawing. North Carolina lottery officials said $13.5 million has been raised for education during this current Powerball run.
Powerball Jackpot is $687, But What About Mega Millions?
And if $687 million isn’t enough for you, the Mega Millions (which someone in Fayetteville just won $1 million on) drawing this Friday is $977 million.
Players can buy Powerball or Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
