Surprise! Muhammad Ali Appearing in New WWE 2K24 Video Game
There’s lots of things to be excited about for the new WWE 2k24 video game, but perhaps nothing more exciting than Muhammad Ali making an appearance.
With a number of different versions coming out on March 8, the 40 Years of Wrestlemania edition is the most exciting one. And that’s where we’re guessing the all-time great boxer Ali is likely to appear.
You can expect the current stars like Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair & Rhea Ripley (who appear on the covers of different versions of the game). The 40 Years of Wrestlemania editions will feature all the legends like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock & more.
“For 40 years, WrestleMania has captivated millions of fans around the globe as WWE Superstars became Legends and spectacular moments – from Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant, to “Mr. WrestleMania” Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker putting on a match for the ages, and many more – cemented WWE Hall of Fame legacies. “The Grandest Stage of Them All,” has drawn earth-shaking roars from 100,000+ in attendance, as the biggest icons in WWE made history, and left every drop of blood, sweat and tears in the squared circle. 40 years in the making, the WWE 2K24 Showcase…of the Immortals puts players in control, playing through the most iconic moments in WrestleMania history as 2K’s distinctive Slingshot Tech seamlessly morphs gameplay to live-action footage and back again for the most immersive WrestleMania video game experience to date. A host of unlockable content adds challenge and replay value to this historical experience.”
Now before you say the Ali addition is crazy, he does have some connection to the wrestling world. On March 31, 1985, Ali was the special guest referee for the main event of the inaugural Wrestlemania event. The Rock vs. Muhammed Ali happening in 2024 are words that I’d never thought I would type until now.
WWE 2K24 with Muhammad Ali launches on March 8, 2024 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
One thing it appears you will NOT see in the game is Brock Lesner. Lesner has been implicated in the recent scandal that caused Vince McMahon to resign from WWE. Lesner appeared on previous versions of the cover of the game that were released, but as you can see in the image below, he’s gone.
