Reese Witherspoon Defends Eating Snow: ‘Is This Bad?’
Reese Witherspoon admits she likes to eat snow, but some fans find it sickening. The Morning Show star shared a TikTok video of herself making a “snow salt Chococinno” over the weekend. Witherspoon, 47, collected snow outside of her home with what looked to be her son, Deacon. He scooped snow off of her car into mugs. Then, he topped it with cold brew coffee and chocolate and salted caramel syrups. The actress showed herself enjoying the wintery treat with wide eyes and then having fun coming up with a name for her concoction.

The video has nearly five million views and was met with mixed reactions about eating snow. One person commented: “can you put snow in a clear cup and let it melt I just want to see if it’s safe to eat first [laughing emoji].” Another said: “[shocked face emoji] No no no.. snow is not made to eat. u can get seriously sick [sad face emoji].” Chalking it up to YOLO, one fan commented: “Fallen snow can be very dirty from the air and wind but who cares. You only live once. I remember eating snow as a kid.” Another had a fun alternative name for her next creation: “Add peanut butter and call it Reese’s Winterspoon.” The actress responded, “That’s genius!”
Snow What?
In a second TikTok, the Oscar winner responded to the comment about putting snow in a clear cup to let it melt. She showed a mason jar cup of snow taken from the backyard that was, in fact, clear. Making a grimaced face, she questioned, “Is this bad?” Laughing and questioning, “Am I not supposed to eat snow?” Also nearing five million views on the reaction video, Witherspoon seemed to enjoy responding to the comments.
She posted another TikTok defending her snowy treat. “I want to say something — it was delicious,” she said, laughing. “It was so good!” Witherspoon posted a finale to the snow salt Chococinno debate. Pointing out she didn’t grow up with filtered water in the ’80s, Reese said she would sometimes drink water with her mouth on the tap. Also, in the summer, Reese recalled drinking straight from the hose, so “filtered water? Maybe that’s why I’m like this,” she says in the hilarious reaction video.
