The Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade Returns This Saturday

The Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade is this Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.

This weekend the Rotary Club of Fayetteville will hold its annual Christmas Parade to celebrate the magic of the holidays! The parade kicks off Saturday, December 8 at 10 AM and is open to all.

The Rotary Christmas Parade has been a yearly tradition in Fayetteville for decades. According to the official Fayetteville Rotary website, members of the club banded together in 1999 to ensure that the city could enjoy a festive holiday parade in anticipation of Christmas. The parade is just one of the many community service projects that the club takes on throughout the year.

The tradition will continue this Saturday as many floats and marching bands take to the streets of Downtown Fayetteville. Visitors will be able to line up across Person Street and Hay Street to watch the festivities.

The parade will start from the assembly area moving west on Person Street. It will continue up Person Street around the Market House, West on Hay Street and finally terminate at the CSX Depot.

The Rotary Christmas Parade will feature a vast array of holiday themed floats, complete with ornate designs and folks dressed up in their finest Christmas garb. Rumor has it that even Santa Claus himself will be in the parade as well. Man, the Rotary Club must have some serious connections!

This year’s Christmas Parade has a lot to live up to after the success of last year’s event. The 2022 Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade was featured in Our State magazine, showcasing E.E. Smith High School’s award-winning “Magnificent Marching Machine.”

As incredible as last year’s turnout was, the Rotary Club of Fayetteville looks to make this year’s parade bigger and better than before. Be a part of one of the most wonderful holiday community events in Cumberland County!

First Look: Holiday Lights at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville

The Holiday Lights at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville have become a must-see attraction every year.

This year is definitely no different. We got a sneak peek of the lights on opening night for Botanical Garden members.

There were no shortage of photo-worthy opportunities throughout the garden, with fun spots with The Grinch and Santa, as well as hot cocoa and smores.

It’s important to get your tickets in ADVANCE, as many timeslots on many nights sell out.

Some additional tips from Cape Fear Botanical Garden:

  • Consider Carpooling! Parking lot space is limited, and you may have to park along the access road. Parking attendants will guide you. If you need to drop-off a handicapped member of your party, please let the attendant know, and they will help you accordingly.
  • Bring a Flashlight. Though the Garden features many lights, you may find it helpful to have extra to guide along certain paths.
  • Due to limited tickets, timed entries and a NO-REFUND policy, please plan carefully and pay close attention when purchasing tickets. Tickets are subject to availability and at this time, walk-up tickets are not available. All events at Cape Fear Botanical Garden are fund-raising events and tickets are non-refundable. Unused tickets will be considered a donation to Cape Fear Botanical Garden, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. **Rain dates may be available. Guest Passes will not be accepted for this event.
