Registration Is Now Open For Fayetteville Beautiful Cleanup Event
It’s time to roll up our sleeves and help keep Fayetteville clean and gorgeous! Registration is now open for the Fayetteville Beautiful cleanup event happening on Saturday, November 11.
According to this news release, Fayetteville Beautiful is a city-sponsored program where volunteers pledge to clean up the city by picking up discarded litter on city streets and local parks. This is meant to encourage community wellness and responsibility among the residents of Fayetteville.
Fayetteville Beautiful is a beloved program amongst the community, with hundreds of volunteers pledging to clean up the streets every single year. And this year the event organizers are hoping to receive more support than ever before!
Registration can be found at the bottom of the homepage on the event website. On the map provided, volunteers can then pick the location in which they want to focus their cleanup efforts. Once they pick a location, volunteers can then submit their registration info to lock in their pick.
On November 10, the day before the event, volunteers will be able to pick up supplies at 121 Lamon Street between the hours of noon and 3 o’clock. These supplies include trash bags, fliers, water, and an event shirt.
Volunteers will be able to choose what time they clean up their designated area on the day of the event. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation and City of Fayetteville Public Services crews will begin collecting trash bags the following Monday.
Volunteers are discouraged from picking up trash on active roads, bridges, overpasses and tunnels. They’re also advised to avoid picking up trash that looks to be hazardous material or contain unknown contents. For a full look at safety measures for the event, click here.
