Niall Horan & Chance the Rapper To Join NBC’s ‘The Voice’
It’s official! Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper will be joining NBC’s The Voice for the upcoming 23rd season.
“I’m thrilled to join The Voice as a Coach for the next season,” Chance said in a statement per NBC. “I’m excited to help other Artists get to the next level and make the most of this life-changing experience. Get ready for #TeamChance.”
In his own statement, Horan said, “I’m excited to be joining this season of The Voice as a Coach. I’m looking forward to meeting and mentoring the new crop of talent while we battle it out with the other teams!”
The Voice’s official Twitter account also posted the full list of judges including The Voice veterans Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.

Both Horan and Chance are no strangers to competition shows. The former One Direction singer was propelled into stardom when the successful boy band formed on the British competition series The X Factor in 2010. The band broke up in 2016 where Horan began his solo career. Chance The Rapper is known for his Grammy-winning album The Coloring Book (2016) and was previously a judge on Netflix’s reality rap competition series Rhythm + Flow.
This comes on the heels of Shelton’s big announcement that he has decided to leave The Voice after 12 years. Although the 22nd season is still airing, this upcoming season will be the country singer’s last.
Shelton explained in his Instagram Story and post that he has been wrestling with the idea of leaving the singing competition show for a while now.
He wrote, “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week.”
The Voice airs on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
