WATCH: WWE Superstar Ciampa Coming to Fayetteville Show Sunday
This Sunday, August 7 WWE returns to the Crown Complex here in Fayetteville and Ciampa is part of the lineup.
They usually make a stop here at least once a year and to get ready for Sunday’s show, I was able to interview one of my favorite wrestlers: Former two-time NXT Champion (Tommaso) Ciampa.
He is intensity personified and during the glory days of NXT (2014-2019), he was definitely a stand out with his excellent storytelling, hard hitting strikes, and his wrestling IQ.
“Man, I love it,” Ciampa said during the interview. “The first transition was Black and Gold to 2.0, and then 2.0 to this. The travel, the new opponents, the fresh opportunities, I feel like we’re just starting here at the tip of the iceberg.”
After being transitioned to the WWE Raw roster, he started out by backing up The Miz in his feud with Logan Paul. This past Monday he won two matches, a triple-threat match against Chad Gable and Dolph Ziggler, and then a match against AJ Styles to become the number one contender for the US Title, held by Bobby Lashley.
“It’s a learning curve, and I got lucky – and some people might think it’s weird I’m saying I got lucky – but I had a really slow burn transition coming up to the main roster,” Ciampa said. “I found that to be good, because it gave me a lot of reps. … I’m happy I got all those reps the last few months, because I’m extremely comfortable and my confidence is where it needs to be.”
You can see Ciampa and the rest of the WWE crew, as part of the lineup at the Crown Complex this Sunday, right here in Fayetteville.
