Naomi Osaka Pledges To Donate Prize Money To Haitian Relief
Tennis star Naomi Osaka is donating her prize money from next week’s Western & Southern Open to support Haiti’s earthquake relief. Osaka is of Haitian and Japanese descent.
“Really hurts to see all the devastation that’s going on in Haiti, and I feel like we really can’t catch a break,” the tennis star tweeted Sunday. “I’m about to play a tournament this week and I’ll give all the prize money to relief efforts for Haiti. I know our ancestors blood is strong we’ll keep rising.”

The four-time Grand Slam champion announced her pledge after learning of the devasting 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck the Caribbean island Saturday, killing at least 304 people and injuring hundreds, per CNN.
Rappers Cardi B and Rick Ross have also posted their prayers in support of Haiti.
“I got a soft spot for Haiti and it’s people.They my cousins.I pray for Haiti they go thru soo much.God please cover that land and it’s people,” Cardi, who is of Dominican descent, tweeted.
