Mattel Launches Doll Of Naomi Osaka For The 2021 Olympics
Barbie has a new neighbor!
Mattel has launched a new Barbie doll for the tennis star, Naomi Osaka, for the 2021 Olympics.
Osaka shared Role Model Naomi dressed in her 2020 Nike outfit she wore for the Australian Open. The Olympian captioned the photo of her look-a-like with an important message, “I really hope every child is reminded that they can be and do anything.”
The 23-year-old also mentioned how having a Barbie doll is a “dream of mine come to life”.
“We are incredibly honored to spotlight Naomi Osaka as part of our Barbie Role Model series,” Lisa McKnight, senior vice president and global head of Barbie and dolls for Mattel explained per TODAY. “She has paved the way for future generations of girls to dream bigger, and through her unwavering courage and honesty, shown the world the importance of being your own biggest champion. Naomi continues to break boundaries on and off the court and is a powerful role model to fans everywhere.”
