Saweetie Claps Back At Accusation Of Fake Tesla Giveaway
Saweetie took to Twitter to shut down rumors that she was faking her Tesla giveaway, which she announced back in February to coincide with the release of her song “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat.
After a Twitter user claimed the rapper “used her fans for streams” with the giveaway, adding that she was “personally a fan until realizing how fake she is,” Saweetie decided to address the allegation.
Saweetie wrote, “The fake news concerns me these days.. *update* the 1rst winner was underage & the replacement is unresponsive so we have to go through the process again.. a true supporter knows my character &knows I don’t play about my business. U were never a fan babygirl let’s talk about that.”
The user ended up deleting their initial tweet, and fans are now waiting for Saweetie to pick her next two Tesla winners, to potentially ride around with their “besties.”

In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, Saweetie said she’s close to releasing her debut album, Pretty B—h Music, led by her new single “Fast (Motion).” The project marks a return to her self-described “car rap Saweetie.” While she considers her previous albums solid, she says that her former team’s efforts to create mainstream music didn’t leave her much room to tell her truths.
Saweetie said, “I went from only wanting to write freestyles to having to create a hit. Now I know how to make the hits. I need to let people know that I’m a West Coast girl. I’m tri-racial. I come from a poppin’, big, male-dominated family, which explains my masculine energy at times. People were only seeing ‘icy girl,’ but who was the girl under the blonde wig?”
