Amazon Bringing Jobs to Fayetteville With Dunn Rd. Delivery Station
Amazon will be bringing hundreds of jobs to Fayetteville, as it plans to open a new delivery station on Dunn Road in 2022.
The delivery station was announced by the Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) in a release, and is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the facility at 1005 Dunn Road.
“We are excited to welcome a Fortune 100 company like Amazon to our community,” Mitch Colvin, mayor of the City of Fayetteville said in the release. “This substantial investment exemplifies our community’s resurgence as our economy continues to recover from the effects of Covid-19. We are open for business and poised for growth.”
Amazon Delivery Stations serve as a “last-mile” resource to get packages from the distribution centers and sorting centers, to the customer’s doorstep.
“Amazon is excited to expand operations into Cumberland County, North Carolina, investing in a new delivery station in Fayetteville,” said Courtney Johnson Norman, Amazon Spokesperson. “We are committed to providing efficient delivery for customers and creating hundreds of jobs for the talented workforce in the area.”
In addition to the Amazon full-time jobs in Fayetteville – that are expected to start at $15 an hour – delivery stations also hire Amazon Flex workers, who can delivery packages on their own schedule, much like they would driving for ride-sharing services. “These jobs could be a good fit for students, stay-at-home parents, military spouses, and those looking for additional income or to build a resume,” said County Commission Chairman Charles Evans. “This project will also support third party jobs in trucking, shipping, and logistics.
