Jared Leto On Zack Synder’s Joker In ‘Justice League’
On the latest episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Jared Leto dished on what it was like playing The Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The four hour Synder cut of Justice League was released on HBO Max today, and Colbert brought to Leto’s attention a headline that read, “This is redemption for Jared Leto’s Joker. This expands that character in really interesting ways.”
Colbert asks Leto how this Joker is different from Suicide Squad‘s Joker to which Leto responds, “I always loved Zack Snyder and I think that the story behind this Synder cut is really kind of one for the ages.” He went on to say he was “just happy to be a part of his dream and to get asked to play The Joker for a second time was just a treat.”
The comparison between the two Jokers that Leto plays was called an “evolution” by Leto, due to the time passing and how the collaboration with different directors bring out a “different side, a different joke, a different energy.”
Leto was wearing a black t-shirt in the interview with the slogan “We Live In A Society,” explaining that he ad-libbed the viral line in the Justice League trailer.
