Woodpeckers Among Top 25 Teams in Minors for Merchandise Sales
We may not have gotten to see year 2 of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers play out on the field at Segra Stadium, but our Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros did get a little bit of good news this week. The Woodpeckers ranked among the top 25 teams in all of Minor League Baseball for retail merchandise sales in 2019.
Minor League Baseball announced the list this week, saying that all 160 teams combined for a record $85.7 million in sales in 2019.

MiLB doesn’t release the rankings of those 25 top-selling teams, just the alphabetical list of teams. And it’s not a surprise that several newly formed – or newly rebranded – teams are on the list, including the Woodpeckers, the Amarillo Sod Poodles and the Las Vegas Aviators.
Of note, however, is that only three of the teams in the list of 25 play below the Double A or Triple A level – Fayetteville (High Class A), Wisconsin (Low Class A) and Dayton (Low Class A). The Durham Bulls are the only team to have been on the list every season the rankings have been done, according to Baseball America.
