Cardi B Shares Breonna Taylor’s Story On Instagram
“Do you know Breonna Taylor’s story? Her whole story?” Cardi B asks in a new video that the rapper shared on Instagram on Wednesday (June 10). “Let me tell ya something. This is why we gotta keep fighting. Breonna Taylor was one-year younger than me. Pose, dress, live her life how we do!” Cardi B wrote in the caption of her post.
“Imagine if this happens to YOUR FRIEND , YOUR SISTER. This is her mother telling you her story. They tried to trick her mom that night into believing maybe an enemy killed her when in fact the police ransacked her home and murdered her.”
“They tried to sweep the case under the rug especially since the country went on lockdown due to Coronavirus. DONT LET KENTUCKY POLICE DEPARTMENT GET AWAY WITH THIS [expletive]!!!!!” Cardi B continued in her caption.
“They always pull out criminal records to taint every black man or woman that gets murdered by police or an excuse why they got killed.Well, what’s the excuse now ?! John Mattingly, Brett Hankison, Myles Cosgrove..YA NEED TO GO TO JAIL !!! THAT Wayyy ….I’ll leave a link on my story FOR YOU TO HELP!”
In the video, that features Tamika Palmer, Taylor’s mother who explains in depth what happened to Taylor on March 13, 2020. “Taylor was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department officers,” according to the video that provided closed captioning while Palmer narrated.
“The LMPD was searching for two people who were already in police custody. Neither person lived there… Three officers on Louisville Metro Police Department used a battering ram to knock down her door. They fired 22 times. Eight of those bullets landed in the body of the most essential worker I will ever know,” Palmer said.
Taylor’s mother said that the police department asked Palmer if Taylor had any enemies, and she told them no. Activist Tamika Mallory of Until Freedom also appeared in the video. “It is time to get justice for her and her family,” Mallory said before explaining how others can get involved and help seek justice for Breonna Taylor.
