SpaceX: Live Stream of Crew Dragon’s Second Launch Attempt with NASA
The SpaceX Demo-2 mission to the International Space Station will be making its second launch attempt today (May 30) at 3:22 PM ET from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The first attempt was initially scheduled for May 27 but was called off due to poor weather conditions.
Per NASA, “…this mission will send NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the International Space Station as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program…Demo-2 will be SpaceX’s second spaceflight test of its Crew Dragon craft and its first test with astronauts aboard. This final test flight prior to NASA certification and will provide data on the performance of the Falcon 9 rocket, the Crew Dragon and ground systems, as well as in-orbit, docking, and landing operations.”
This will be the first space launch since 2011 to take place beginning in the United States. Per CNN, “If successful, this would be SpaceX’s first-ever crewed mission in the company’s 18-year history.” The company was founded by CEO Elon Musk.
