31 People at Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center Test Positive for Coronavirus
Moore County Health Department officials have announced that 26 residents and five employees of the Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
After a positive test was linked to the facility over the weekend, Moore County officials say they worked with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital to test all of the patients and staff at the facility.
There were 26 positive tests among the 96 residents, and five positive tests among the staff of 115. Not all of the test results have come back, however, so the number may rise.
“Once those results are received, Moore County Health Department will provide an update,” a release from Moore County said. “All test results are shared with the affected residents and their families. To protect privacy, no further information about the individuals who have tested positive will be shared by the Health Department.”
Officials said that none of the residents have exhibited severe symptoms yet, but they are all being isolated from others.
Moore County now has 51 confirmed positive cases and has had two deaths related to COVID-19.
