Daily Update: 56 Positive COVID-19 Cases in Cumberland County Now, Including Baby
Cumberland County now has 56 positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), with the youngest of those being an almost 1-year old baby, county officials said in a news release.
Eight new cases were reported Monday, with the youngest being a patient just under a year old, and the oldest at 85 years old. There are also now two cases for individuals between the ages of 18-24.

Cumberland County now has 56 positive COVID-19 cases, according to Health Director Dr. Jennifer Green. Eight new cases were reported Monday. Of the 56 cases, the youngest patient is almost 1 year old and the oldest is 85. Individuals between the ages of 24 and 65 make up 84% of the cases.
“As we see the case counts grow in our county, I want to encourage everyone to follow the stay at home order. In addition, with evidence of community spread in North Carolina, individuals can consider the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations to use cloth face coverings when you are in settings where social distancing is not possible. There is still a nationwide shortage of surgical masks and N95s. These critical resources should be reserved for people who work in healthcare, public health, and first responders and individuals who are sick,” Green said.
