Sam Smith and Renee Zellweger Team up on a Song for ‘Judy’
Sam Smith and Renee Zellweger are about to make music together.
According to People, the pair are set to duet together for the upcoming Judy Garland biopic. Zellweger will also be playing Judy Garland. The song they will be singing together will be “Get Happy.”
When discussing his duet with Renee, Sam explains, “When I was 17-years-old, I did a project on Judy Garland for my Film Studies A-Level. I was immediately immersed into the magic of Judy and her incredibly brave and triumphant story.”
He also adds, “She has remained as one of the icons of my life. She was one of the bravest humans out there and, her vulnerability and honesty in her art still give me goosebumps like it did the first time. It was truly an honor to sing with Renee… it is a career highlight for me to sing with her and, in some small way, with Judy.”
Judy will be in theaters September 27.
