Watch The First Teaser For ‘The Morning Show’ Starring Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon
Fans are getting a first look at The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell. But they won’t actually see any of those stars in the new trailer. Don’t worry, though, it’s still enough to make you want to tune in.
“Good morning,” Aniston is heard saying as the camera pans through the office of this morning show. “I’m bringing you some sad and upsetting news.”
The Apple+ original will “pull back the curtain on early morning TV” and in this voice over-filled teaser fans get a sense of the drama that is going on behind the scenes. “I’m a journalist,” Carell, who plays co-anchor Mitch Kessler, says as the camera closes in on his dressing room. “I can feel when the world needs me.”
The show will reportedly look at the gender dynamics of morning TV, where Mitch is struggling to maintain relevancy. But, from the sounds of the downtrodden music, it’s clear the world still does need him and his co-anchors now. That is if they can get past their own egos. “Guess what, America loves me,” Aniston says before Witherspoon is heard explaining, “I’m just here to deliver the news to America. That’s all I ever wanted to do.”
“People want to trust that the person who is telling them the truth about the world is an honest person,” Witherspoon says. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see if the hosts of The Morning Show are trustworthy enough. The series, which has already been picked up for a second season, is slated to premiere this fall on Apple’s new streaming service.
