The New ‘Bachelor’ Won’t Be Revealed During Hannah Brown’s ‘Bachelorette’ Finale
Bachelor Nation will finally know who Hannah Brown gives her last rose to after this season’s two-night Bachelorette finale. Unfortunately, though, they won’t be any closer to knowing the next Bachelor. And host Chris Harrison has revealed why that is.
“I will break this news: you will not get [the Bachelor announcement] at the finale,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight. “It would be premature to make the call now, before [Bachelor in Paradise]. It wouldn’t be smart at all… there’s guys you haven’t seen yet.”
It wouldn’t be the first time that Bachelor In Paradise helped choose the next Bachelor. Both Season 21’s Nick Viall and last season’s Colton Underwood were picked after a stint on BiP. Of course, this is sad news for all those Bach fans who wanted to see Mike Johnson become the first black Bachelor.
While Johnson didn’t win over Brown—he was eliminated in episode 7—fans thought he deserved his own season to find love. Harrison told ET that it’s still possible Brown will get the job. “Big Mike left early…. But you see the spark and you see that people are intrigued,” he said. “And Big Mike is intriguing. He’s lovable. He becomes a contender.”
Of course, so are Brown’s remaining suitors—Tyler Cameron, Peter Weber, and Jed Wyatt—who are still competing for her heart. And after Tuesday night’s big finale, two of these guys will be competing to be the next Bachelor.
