A Health Warning For All You Binge Watchers
For all you Netflix binge-watchers, beware.
Don’t act like you don’t enjoy a good rainy weekend binge-watching that new show you finally decided to watch that has three-plus seasons of quality goodness. It’s okay we all do it, but apparently, it’s not good for you, like at all.
According to Complex, the University of Minnesota did a study of 15,000 adults and found out that people that like to watch TV “very often” have a 1.7 times higher chance of developing VTE (Venous Thromboembolism). VTE is a type of blood clot, also knows as deep vein thrombosis.
So basically VTE comes from sitting for long periods of time, so watching television isn’t the only way to up your chances, obviously sitting at a desk all day does the same damage, but let’s focus on binge watching for now.
Basically, just think about maybe not watching that 5th episode in a row, or instead, get up and stretch and maybe take a lap outside before.
Couldn’t hurt.
