This year’s Super Bowl Halftime show was epic, and social media blew up before the show was even over. Among the topics that people were talking about was the segment when Eminem performed “Lose Yourself” followed by Dr. Dre’s performance of “Still D.R.E.”
A rumor quickly started circulating online that the NFL asked Dre to not use the lyrics “still not loving police,” and asked Eminem not to take a knee, but both things happened. A spokesperson for the NFL told the New York Times that they were aware that Eminem would take a knee, because “watched it during rehearsals this week.” The NFL has not commented on Dre’s “still not loving police” line: you can watch the moment for yourself: it comes at 13 minutes into the show.
