Alicia Keys Will Host The 2020 Grammy Awards
Fifteen-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys is slated to return as host of the 2020 Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy announced the news on Tuesday (Nov. 12) regarding the 62nd annual prestigious ceremony.
Keys hosted the ceremony last year for the first time. It was also her debut hosting any type of awards program. Keys released a statement regarding her gig for the 2020 Grammy Awards.
“At first I did think last year was a one-time thing but when the opportunity came back around there was no question about returning as host of the GRAMMY Awards. Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music,” she said.
The Record Academy’s president and CEO Deborah Dugan also shared a statement regarding Alicia Keys’ hosting job.
“From Best New Artist recipient to GRAMMY Award host, Alicia Keys has been a beacon of artistry within the music community for more than two decades. Last year was a testament to her compelling creativity and we are thrilled that she will return to the GRAMMY stage as our host. Anything can happen, you don’t want to miss it!” Dugan said.
The 2020 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 in Los Angeles at the STAPLES Center. It will be broadcasted live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT as well as streamed live on GRAMMY.com. The Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony takes place at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT.
