Solange Announces Split From Husband Alan Ferguson
Over the weekend, Solange took to social media to announce her split with her husband, director Alan Ferguson.
The “Binz” singer revealed that the couple had parted ways in a lengthy post on Instagram. “The past 2 years have brought me more physical and spiritual transition and evolution than ever before my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still within that stillness I begin my journey in confronting my worst enemy, fear,” Solange wrote as the caption of three photos of herself.
“I’ve lived my best and worst moments in front of the lens and gaze of the world since I was a teenager. I’ve always tried to live in my truth no matter how ugly or full of love it is. I’ve also tried to carve out the space to protect my heart, and my life as it unfolds, evolves, and changes,” Solange continued before announcing the split.
“11 years ago I met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways, (and tho it ain’t nan nobody business ) I find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do. it is unfair to not have power of your own story as you shape and mold and rewrite it yourself. a ni–a ain’t perfect, but I’m leaning into the fear of the unknown and all the glory and power I know exist within god and the universes grace. may all of your transitions no matter how big or small, be kind to you and filled with incredible love and light,” Solange wrote.

Solange and Ferguson tied the knot in November 2014 in New Orleans. Ferguson directed several of Solange’s videos, including “Cranes In The Sky”, for her 2016 highly-lauded album A Seat At The Table.
As the Jasmine Brand reports, prior to Solange’s announcement, a video surfaced of the “Don’t Touch My Hair” singer with another (unidentified) man. Rumors began spreading regarding Solange and Ferguson’s marriage because in the video Solange appeared to be grabbing the man’s thigh and he appeared to kiss her shoulder while they gazed into each other’s eyes.
With a myriad of now-deleted tweets, Solange also took Twitter to deny that she had an inappropriate relationship that man, who is her former co-manager John Bogaard.
The 33-year-old singer said, “Yo John Bogaard is my former co-manager.Y’all gotta chill. I’m not about to be silenced into letting complete lies narrate my life.”
“To take my words, ‘my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still,’ after speaking about my health journey which has already been painful enough and turn into an interpretation of unfaithfulness is just… wow,” Solange continued.
“I hate to even give this energy, but I hate to let something that is so untrue follow me when I’ve tried to live my life in truth. I hope y’all spread this with the same conviction and energy that you did with that false narrative. Much love,” Solange concluded.
