R. Kelly Claims His Health Is Failing
Embattled singer R. Kelly has attempted to obtain a hearing in an attempt to get out of jail because he claims that his health has been compromised behind bars.
The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer’s lawyer recently filed new legal documents that were obtained by TMZ, stating that the singer has various medical issues, including an untreated hernia, anxiety, and numbness in one of his hands.
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg claims that R. Kelly isn’t receiving adequate medical treatment in the facility and he also called the conditions of the singer’s imprisonment “stifling.”
“Although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he’s required to switch,” Greenberg said.
Greenberg confirmed to the publication that the woman who is currently listed on Kelly’s visiting list is Azriel Clary.
The legal documents also contain information that was written in an attempt to reassure the judge that if R. Kelly is released from jail, he won’t flee, tamper with evidence, or attempt to intimidate witnesses.
Greenberg also claimed that the singer isn’t a flight risk because he has a passport that doesn’t contain any stamps and contrary to Kelly’s popular song, the singer doesn’t like flying and rarely goes outside of the United States.
