Orlando Bloom Is Happy That Katy Perry & Taylor Swift Are Friends Again
Orlando Bloom is in full support of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift’s reconciliation. In fact, he thinks the world is better for it.
While promoting his new Amazon series Carnival Row, Bloom was asked about his fiancée Perry rekindling her friendship with Swift. And he was delightfully Zen about the whole thing. “When we live in a world where there’s so much conflict, we want peace and we want unity and we want everyone to get along and appreciate one another,” Bloom told USA Today at the Television Critics Association panel. “So I’m all for the joy of union and happiness and people getting along.”
The two pop stars officially ended their yearslong feud last month with a plate of chocolate chip cookies, followed by a delicious cameo in Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” video. In it, a hamburger-costume wearing Perry and Swift, dressed as an order of French fries, hug it out during a food fight.
In a recent Australian radio interview, Perry talked about how she sent a literal olive branch to Swift to get things rolling. “I just thought she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support,” she said of sending the gift before Swift started her Reputation tour. “And truly, it was like as I was finishing mine, I realized how much we have in common, and maybe there’s only five other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and understand where we’re coming from, and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other.”
Next, Perry will be celebrating her wedding. Though, according to Bloom, it’s not happening anytime soon. And he managed to express this while promoting the positive, or “light” themes of his new fantasy series. “We’re in the wonderful process of doing all the very important and necessary loving and healing work to create a foundation that will enable us to be light workers,” he told USA Today. So, we might have to wait and see if Swift gets an invite.
