Several first-look teasers for the forthcoming movie Hustlers starring Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Lizzo, Constance Wu, and Julia Stiles are here.
On Wednesday, the official Instagram page for the film shared a myriad of short teasers featuring each one of the movie’s stars.
The teasers also feature Cardi’s hit single “Money.” In the clips, J. Lo can be seen on top of a bag of money strutting, Lizzo passionately working the pole, Palmer sipping a cocktail, and Cardi showing off her pearly whites.
The Lorene Scarfia-directed film is about a group of strippers who plan to steal a ton of cash from their wealthy Wall Street clients.
As we previously reported, the movie is based on a New York Magazine article regarding a crew of exotic dancers who conspired to steal from rich men on Wall Street.
The new upcoming flick also touches on gender norms and the beauty standards that society often imposes.
“The film is an empathetic look at women and men, our gender roles, what we’re valued for, what we’ve been told is our value in every movie, TV show, every corner of culture. Men have been told they’re worth the size of their bank accounts,” Scafaria said. “Women have been told they’re worth the symmetry of their faces, their bodies, their beauty, and that’s what this film is based on. The rules of the club are the rules of the world.”
Lopez recently revealed that she visited the strip club to do research for her role alongside her fiance Alex Rodriguez.
“Alex was very excited about me doing a stripper movie,” J. Lo said. “He helped me do research by going to a strip club in NYC with me and we watched the show and afterward I chatted with some of the girls.”
On Wednesday, July 17 the official trailer for the movie is slated to drop.
