‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Shay Mitchell Announces Pregnancy
Former Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell made a big announcement Friday. The actress is pregnant and due to give birth in just a few months.
In a photo posted to Instagram, the star of Netflix’s You revealed that she has been keeping her pregnancy a secret for quite some time. Mitchell, 32, also revealed that the baby is a “rainbow baby,” which is a term used for pregnancies after miscarriage.
In her Instagram photo caption, she wrote: “Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the carpool lane at all times now?”
Six months ago, she revealed on her Instagram stories that she had miscarried.
“Although it was an amazing year, it didn’t come without hardships,” she said, before posting a sonogram photo with a broken heart emoji.
But even with happier days on the horizon, Mitchell also recorded a YouTube video about why kept it a secret.
“When you’re in the public eye, there are some things you want to just keep a secret until you feel ready. This, for me, has been the hardest. It’s going to be really fun and awesome when I’m not trying to hide it anymore,” she said.
“I didn’t want to come out on social media so early on,” she added. “I’m going to be so happy when this comes out. I can be pregnant, like not suck my stomach in.”
