Fun Day Trips And Weekend Getaways From Fayetteville

For most of us, vacation comes once or maybe twice a year. So it’s essential that throughout the other months of the year, we have some fun and maybe get away but not too far.

Day trips and weekend getaways are the perfect quick excursions that don’t require the time or money of an extended vacation. You can just pack an overnight bag or maybe just plan a day where you drive up a couple of hours have some fun, and drive back.

Luckily, in Fayetteville, there are many places to get away for just a short while before getting back into the daily grind of work and life.

Let’s take a look at some of the best places to go from right here in Fayetteville.

Myrtle Beach, SC

There’s so much fun to be had in Myrtle Beach, and it’s only a 2-Hour drive from Fayetteville. The Hollywood Wax Museum is a great example where you can see wax models of some of the biggest stars in showbiz.

For the fall, there are plenty of pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and evening walks on the beach to enjoy the sites. During the fall, you can enjoy the nice scenery in comfort and take part in the numerous festivals across the Grand Strand.

There are also several spots to hit for the Halloween holiday, from family-friendly activities to things to do out on the town with friends.

Raleigh, NC

Raleigh is just an hour from Fayetteville. It has become really a go-to place for those people in Fayetteville who want to get out and visit a little bigger city. Raleigh has great restaurants and museums like the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the North Carolina Museum of History. It’s not a long trip at all and a whole lot of fun.

Augusta, GA

Augusta, Georgia, is about a three and a half hour drive from Fayetteville, but there are a lot of things to do in Augusta. While a day trip might be nice, a weekend trip would be even better.

In Augusta, there are many museums and great food to be enjoyed. While there, you can visit the Augusta Museum of History and the boyhood home of President Woodrow Wilson for history buffs.
