Billie Eilish Says 3-Hour Concerts Are ‘Literally Psychotic’
It’s hard not to think that Billie Eilish has some level of beef with Taylor Swift by now, with her latest comments about the length of concerts. The award-winning singer-songwriter, who is embarking on her Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour later this year, was asked by a fan during a live on Stationhead if she would add every song from her latest 10-track album to the setlist when she performs.

The “Lunch” singer, 22, says in a recording of the live posted to social media and YouTube, “See, I can’t do that! That’s the worst part of mixing the two — my show would be, like, a million years long. If I did that, I’d have to cut, like, every other song that I have,” she said while chuckling. “So, I’m gonna have to choose, y’all. But I’ll do most of them… I’m not doing a three-hour show — That’s literally psychotic.”
“Nobody wants that! You guys don’t want that — I don’t want that. You know what I’m saying? I don’t even want that as a fan. Even my favorite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours,” she says while chuckling, “You know what I mean? That’s far too long… No, you don’t want that, I promise you that, I think you don’t.”
While her comments don’t mention any artists by name, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, two of the most iconic and popular artists on tour, have concerts that last three hours. The comment triggered Swifties over on X (formerly Twitter), who took Eilish’s comment as a dig towards the “Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” singer.
One wrote, “she doesn’t want that bc she can’t do that.” Another Swiftie commented, “Billie doesn’t have enough songs to last her a 3 hour show.” A third said, “the worst thing this girl could do was mess with Taylor Swift.” Another Swiftie wrote, “Ohhhh Billie – I think you might regret that in a couple of decade.” Meanwhile, another said, “I hope everyone listens to this hypocrite being shady once again [rolling eyes emoji]. Same old Billie.”
Another die-hard Swiftie commented, “Billie saying she doesn’t wanna perform 3 hr show because fans wouldn’t want that just says that she thinks her fans doesn’t love her art enough to sit through 3 hr show but hey taylor knows what her fans want, and 3 hour show is exactly that. If Taylor performs even 5 hr show, her fans would still show up & she would still sell out stadiums because her fans wouldn’t mind, who tf doesn’t wanna see their favourtie artist perform for 3 hours?”

Billie Eilish’s third studio album was released on Friday, May 17. The highly-anticipated album didn’t have any tracks released as singles prior to the drop of Hit Me Hard And Soft. Despite that, the award-winning, record-breaking musician kept her fans on their toes and teased details leading up to this day.
Eilish opened up about her sexuality and how she came to terms with being in love with girls for years. She showcases this in her second song, the raunchy, playful track, “LUNCH,” whose music video dropped as the first visuals accompanying the album release day.
HMHAS Highs and Lows
As a longtime fan of Billie Eilish since her 2017 EP don’t smile at me, this third studio album does have some gems, but it is not her best work. Her lyrics are mature at times, but some songs are too joyful that we are completely uninterested in that side of Billie and find it lacks the depth we are usually spoiled with.
Sorry to those who praise “LUNCH” and “BIRDS OF A FEATHER,” but it’s just not for me. I mean, I personally listen to Billie Eilish because she makes me feel deeply as her angelic voice lulls you into the despair she sings about. There are countless times that we cried as we sang along with “No Time To Die” “Happier Than Ever,” and “What Was I Made For?”
Now, we’re all about artistic growth, and the sound certainly sounds more layered and thought-out. She’s also using synths heavily throughout the album. Six of the 10-track album’s songs are over four minutes long. These songs either change tempo and mood, or both, and we just adore it when artists do this and give a twist and completely change the feeling of a song.
However, there are some songs that clearly seem to check off boxes that we think were made for the Gen Zers rather than us older fans (I’m a Millenial). I can’t possibly relate to superficial lines like: “I could buy her so much stuff. It’s a craving, not a crush.”
HMHAS World Tour
To support the release of her new album, Eilish will embark on her world tour. Starting in September, she will head over to Canada before starting her US dates. In October, Eilish will start out in Maryland, ending the US leg of the tour in California in December.
